Isingiro District lies in semi arid areas of Ankole - Masaka dry corridor, and people walk more than 4 KM especially from Nakivale Refugee camp in search of water which most of the time is dirty and not free from diseases.
When you give to people in need, you could help save and change lives, enabling us to reach widows, orphans, the elderly and vulnerable.
For over 3 years we have been serving humanity, and we're working hard to ensure that everyone drinks clean water they deserve.
Drilling 9 Boreholes to serve 900 families in 11 villages to provide Clean water supply to Communities;
Install sanitation and supply to some of the area's most vulnerable residents;
Provide training to teachers and staff about water infection control;
Delivering thirst-quenching safe water to children and young people;
The Health of hundreds of pregnant women, new mothers and babies who have integrated within nearby villages are at risk. The villages lack clean water, and women and Children are forced to walk up to 4 km to seek for water, and the water they find is often not good for human consumption but since they do not have any options they do consume it hence the rising of various diseases such as typhoid fever among other water borne diseases.
The project shall provide clean water to over 20,000 people who have never before had this privilege. This will help the communities access clean water for drinking thus a reduction in spread of water borne diseases. The distance walked to fetch water will reduce the distance from 4 km to less than a kilometer. School going children will get enough time to attend school than spending most of their time walking long distances to fetch water.
This will in the long run save and improve the lives of people living in desperate conditions. It will relieve a burden upon their shoulders and ease their daily lives, dramatically reducing the risk of dehydration and disease, and walking up to 4 km to seek for water that is often not good for human consumption.
Good health is the most important aspect of our lives. Our health is the foundation on which we build our world and without a strong foundation everything else crumbles around us.
